   WHO I AM

Hello, I'm Anne Paquette; currently an incoming freshman at Kent State University with the hope that in fall of 2017 I will be accepted into the athletic training program. At Kent State University, I am involved in extracurriculars and clubs that allow me to stay sane and give my talents to my community. This school year, 2016-2017 I am an active member of the Lambda Delta chapter of Chi Omega Fraternity, a women's sorority whose national philanthropy is the amazing Make-A-Wish Foundation; we also support the MS Society. It gives me great joy to raise money, support, and grant local wishes to such an amazing group and foundation. Chi Omega, in the short time I have been with them so far, has made me a more giving, humble, and generous person. I am also involved with KSU's club Knitting for Those In Need, a group who seeks through its meetings to make hats and scarves for those in need, and Navigators (NAVs), a non-denominational Christian group that explores faith and its meaning in our individual lives and how to give that grace back to the community.

My favorite hobbies include singing (both in the shower and publicly), involving myself in all aspects of sports, and catching up on the latest "to cross the pond" British and time-period dramas, and I love to travel. I love to be able to experience new cultures and places to take the road less traveled as I figure out my life of new found independence. Personally, traveling keeps be humble and allows me to gain a view of life from another's perspective. Also, a big part of my life is crafting off all natures; to me crafting allows me to relax from a stressful day and make things myself.

My love for sports medicine really blossomed during my internship with Stebbins High School's head athletic trainer with their football teams in 2014. Since I was already playing varsity softball with Stebbins, it was an easy transition that opened my eyes to the ceaseless dedication and effort athletic trainers give to their athletes. This profession would allow me to be a healthcare provider while still involving myself in sports, to helps patients get back to the sport they love. Which have been an integral part of my life for many years; the perfect marriage of many important aspects of my life.
