Sense the Inner Light
In Science *Physics* during the year we developed our skills in making and executing experiments. We were given these sensors (UVA/UVB, and light energy), colored panels and a UV box; it produces UV rays out UV light bulbs that glow purple. From the materials we were given, we develop an experiment testing some variable with light. My group of three tested “Does water absorb or reflect UVA/UVB radiation”. From this we took the UV sensors, water, pipet, and a petri-dish, and started our testing. We placed the petri-dish against the UV box while adding small amounts of water. Once we had collected enough data, we had one more component to complete. We had to make a presentation, showing our experiment and how we grew as scientists. This project definitely showed inquiry. We had to be inquiry driven because Mr. Bottlier told us to experiment something we were interested in because science is about learning fun new things not being bored. Inquiry drove my group in learning about how water and UV radiation interact.
