Qualities

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. At the Dayton Regional STEM School, a STEM education means that students, parents, and teachers are engaged in relevant, rigorous and relationship-based educational experiences. Students participate in inquiry and project based instruction that integrates the traditional STEM content areas with social studies, language arts and the fine arts. The Dayton Regional STEM School (DRSS) has identified five important qualities that are taught, practiced and assessed. DRSS believes that) persistence, collaboration, communication, creativity and inquiry are important for a student's development and success; at school and in higher education, professional growth and in life. The curriculum is directly connected to the real world of work through many regional partnerships.
