Hello!

Hi everyone! This is the start to my official blog/portfolio; my main goal through this site is to display my travel adventures and my career advancement and skills learned through college. Though through my time at the Dayton Regional STEM School I dread reflections (we were required to create reflections every quarter for every class for our high school portfolio), I still feel reflections on my life are important. This time around, specifically for college, I want to be able to do the reflections on my watch. To give me the opportunity to reflect on what I feel was the most important, to allow me to be sincere about my growth, rather than exaggerating my growth to what the teachers wanted because it was a graduation requirement. In one year- four years- ten years, this blog style portfolio will allow me to look back at my growth not only as a person but a student.

My first few posts before college will be able traveling or my summer adventures before college. July is the main time of travel for me; July 4th to the 13th is my trip to Scotland as a part of a youth choir concert tour, and July 19th to 23rd, I am part of a Miami Valley (part of the Dayton, Ohio metro area) delegation to the Presbyterian Youth Triennium at Perdue University. The Presbyterian Youth Triennium is a Presbyterian faith youth conference 5,000 strong with the theme "Go... into the world and make disciples" for this year. I am really excited for these trips for very different reasons. This will be the second time I have been to Scotland; because of my age I was able to go twice on this five year rotation trip, 2011 and 2016. Some of the places my choir will be visiting I have been to before five years earlier, but I am looking forward to enjoying watching the others, some of my closest friends, experiencing these new places for the first time. On a different note, I am excited for Triennium because of the unknown. I do not know my fellow Miami Valley delegates. I am excited for making new friends in the Miami Valley and across the country from a conference I have been wanting to go to three years ago.

I hope my little post here explains not only my goals and aspirations for this blog style portfolio, but my love and excitement for my travels this summer. Hope to see you later!
